Leo and Jolene (Goeden) Torres are retired law enforcement professionals from Alaska who bring more than 54 years of combined experience in the investigation, treatment, and understanding of sexual offending, sexual trauma, and victimization. Throughout their careers, they developed a deep understanding of both the devastating impact of sexual brokenness and the pathways toward healing, restoration, and freedom.
Prior to joining the FBI, Jolene earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology. She began her career as a therapist working with individuals convicted of sexual offenses within the prison system. After relocating to Alaska with the FBI, she specialized in the investigation of child and adult sexual abuse, child exploitation, child pornography, human trafficking, and serial homicide cases. Over her distinguished 20-year career, she became a highly respected state, national, and international expert in these fields.
Leo served honorably in the military before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and pursuing graduate studies in Counseling Psychology. During his 24-year law enforcement career, he became a recognized expert at the state and federal levels in investigations involving narcotics, gangs, child and adult sexual abuse, human trafficking, child exploitation, child pornography, and homicide. He also served as an advanced crisis negotiator and certified polygrapher. Known for his unique and effective interviewing approach, Leo developed methods that continue to help individuals uncover truth, build self-awareness, and move toward lasting change and accountability.
In addition to their formal education and professional experience, Leo and Jolene have completed extensive specialized training related to sexual offending, trauma, victimization, recovery, and behavioral change. They have taught, trained, and presented throughout Alaska and across the United States, equipping professionals, organizations, and communities with greater understanding and practical tools for intervention and healing.
Leo and Jolene first met while serving as investigative partners, working many of the same types of cases. Through years of witnessing the far-reaching effects of sexual brokenness on individuals, families, and communities, God began preparing them for a different calling. After retiring and relocating to Florida, they felt led by the Lord to establish Unchained Healing Ministries.
Today their passion is to help individuals find freedom from sexual brokenness through a faith centered approach that combines Biblical truth, accountability, compassion, and practical healing principles. Their mission is to walk alongside men, women, and families affected by sexual bondage, trauma, and destructive patterns, helping them experience restoration, renewed identity, and lasting freedom through the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
